Sumario: | A search for high mass resonance production decaying to tau pairs is performed using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36~pb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$~TeV collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The number of observed events is in good agreement with the predictions for Standard Model background processes, and therefore an upper limit on the resonance cross section
times branching ratio to tau pairs is obtained as a function of the resonance mass. Resonances with Standard Model couplings with mass less than $468$ GeV/$c^{2}$ are excluded at 95\% confidence level. |
