Combination of the Searches for the Higgs Boson in ~1 fb−1 of Data Taken with the ATLAS Detector at 7 TeV Center-of-Mass Energy

This note presents the result of the combination of the searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson using 1.0 fb-1 of data taken with the ATLAS detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. No clear evidence for a signal is observed and the mass ranges 155 GeV to 210 GeV and 290 GeV to 400 GeV are e...

Sumario:This note presents the result of the combination of the searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson using 1.0 fb-1 of data taken with the ATLAS detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. No clear evidence for a signal is observed and the mass ranges 155 GeV to 210 GeV and 290 GeV to 400 GeV are excluded at 95% CL. In the mass ranges 140 GeV to 210 GeV and 290 GeV to 400~GeV the median result would have excluded the Standard Model Higgs boson at 95% CL. The data are also used to set limits on a Standard Model Higgs boson in the presence of a fourth generation of heavy quarks and leptons. In this model the excluded region covers from 125 GeV to 500 GeV.
