Combination of the Searches for the Higgs Boson in ~1 fb−1 of Data Taken with the ATLAS Detector at 7 TeV Center-of-Mass Energy

This note presents the result of the combination of the searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson using 1.0 fb-1 of data taken with the ATLAS detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. No clear evidence for a signal is observed and the mass ranges 155 GeV to 210 GeV and 290 GeV to 400 GeV are e...

description This note presents the result of the combination of the searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson using 1.0 fb-1 of data taken with the ATLAS detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. No clear evidence for a signal is observed and the mass ranges 155 GeV to 210 GeV and 290 GeV to 400 GeV are excluded at 95% CL. In the mass ranges 140 GeV to 210 GeV and 290 GeV to 400~GeV the median result would have excluded the Standard Model Higgs boson at 95% CL. The data are also used to set limits on a Standard Model Higgs boson in the presence of a fourth generation of heavy quarks and leptons. In this model the excluded region covers from 125 GeV to 500 GeV.
