Jets produced in association with W-bosons in CMS at the LHC

Presented here is a study of jets produced in association with W bosons production in pp collisions at center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV using the full CMS 2010 data set, corresponding to a luminosity of 36 pb−1. The transverse energy distribution of the reconstructed leading jets is measured and compared to theoretical expectations. The measured jet multiplicity distributions are efficiency corrected and unfolded to enable direct comparison to theoretical models. The ratios of multiplicities, σ(W + n)/σ(W + (n − 1)) and σ(W + n)/σ(W ) where n stands for the number of jets produced, are also presented.
