PLHC 2011 Poster: Search for first and second generation leptoquarks at the ATLAS Experiment

The poster describes a search for the pair production of first and second-generation scalar leptoquarks using a proton-proton collision dataset at sqrt(s)=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector. The analysis provides an upper limit on the leptoquark mass depending on the branching fraction of the leptoquark decay to a first and second generation lepton and quark. Special emphasis is drawn on the understanding of detector effects with early data as well as the modeling of the dominants background processes: Z+jets and W+jets.
