Measurements of the relative branching fractions of the $B^{\pm} \to p \bar p K^{\pm}$ decay channel including charmonium contributions

Sumario: | We describe the measurement of the branching fractions of ${\mathcal B}(B^{\pm} \to p \bar p K^{\pm})$ decay channel and also of the charmless component $(M_{p\bar p} <2.85\,{\rm GeV/}c^{2})$ and of the $\eta_c$ charmonium contribution ${\mathcal B}(B^{\pm} \to \eta_{c} K^{\pm}) \times {\mathcal B}(\eta_c \to p \bar p)$ with respect to the $J/\psi$ contribution ${\mathcal B} (B^{\pm} \to J/\psi K^{\pm}) \times {\mathcal B} (J/\psi \to p \bar p)$ using about $36\,{\rm pb^{-1}}$ of data collected in 2010. The results are: \begin{align*} \frac{{\mathcal B} (B^{\pm} \to \eta_{c} K^{\pm})\times {\mathcal B} (\eta_c \to p \bar p)}{{\mathcal B} (B^{\pm} \to J/\psi K^{\pm}) \times {\mathcal B} (J/\psi \to p\bar p)} =& 0.71 \pm 0.20_{\rm stat} \pm 0.07_{\rm syst}\\ \frac{{\mathcal B} (B^{\pm} \to p \bar p K^{\pm}){M_{p\bar p}\,{\rm GeV/c^2}}}{{\mathcal B} (B^{\pm} \to J/\psi K^{\pm}) \times {\mathcal B} (J/\psi \to p\bar p) } =& 2.21 \pm 0.41_{\rm stat}\pm 0.24_{\rm syst}\\ \frac{{\mathcal B} (B^{\pm} \to p \bar p K^{\pm})_{\rm all }}{{\mathcal B} (B^{\pm} \to J/\psi K^{\pm}) \times {\mathcal B} (J/\psi \to p\bar p) }=& 4.6 \pm 0.6_{\rm stat} \pm 0.5_{\rm syst}\\ \end{align*} |
