Search for technihadrons in pp collisions at sqrts=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector

The search for the technivector mesons hoT and omegaT produced in pp collisions at sqrts=7TeV and decaying to the dielectron and dimuon final states is presented. The analysis uses 1.08 ifb (1.21 ifb) of data for the ee (mumu) channel collected with the ATLAS detector at the CERN LHC. Since the hoT...

description The search for the technivector mesons hoT and omegaT produced in pp collisions at sqrts=7TeV and decaying to the dielectron and dimuon final states is presented. The analysis uses 1.08 ifb (1.21 ifb) of data for the ee (mumu) channel collected with the ATLAS detector at the CERN LHC. Since the hoT and omegaT are narrow, spin 1 resonances, the search uses the limit results of the ATLAS Z′ search. No evidence for a technihadron signal is observed. Within the context of the low-scale technicolor model, masses of the hoT and omegaT from 130−480GeV are excluded at 95% CL for piT masses from 50−480GeV.
