Sumario: | The ATLAS experiment is designed to study the proton-proton collisions produced at the LHC with a centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV. Liquid argon (LAr) sampling calorimeters are used over the whole rapidity region from 0 to 4.9 units. In particular, the forward calorimeter covers the region 3.2 to 4.9 units of rapidity and uses a unique electrode structure consisting of rod/tube electrodes paraxial to the beam. This talk will discuss experience with the forward calorimeter, both in the commissioning stages, and particularly its utility in physics analysis. |
