We present the measurement of the production cross section for top quark pairs ($tar{t}$) in pp collisions at $sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV using 35pb$^{-1}$ of data recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Events are selected in single lepton ($e$ or $mu$) and dilepton ($ee$, $mumu$...

description We present the measurement of the production cross section for top quark pairs ($tar{t}$) in pp collisions at $sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV using 35pb$^{-1}$ of data recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Events are selected in single lepton ($e$ or $mu$) and dilepton ($ee$, $mumu$, $emu$) topologies with multi-jets, and large missing transverse energy (MET). The combined result from these measurements is $sigma_{tar{t}}$ = $186 pm 9 mathrm{(stat.)} pm 15 mathrm{(syst.)} pm6 mathrm{(lumi.)} mathrm{pb}$, which is in good agreement with the Standard Model (SM) prediction. The measurement of the top quark mass and other top quark properties in lepton+jets and dilepton channels are also presented in this paper, with emphasis on the current understanding of the systematic uncertainties.
