description | Supersymmetry - one of the most promising candidates for a description of physics beyond the standard model - can manifest itself in a wide variety of different event topologies. Assuming the existence of a stable, weakly interacting lightest supersymmetric particle the final states are characterized by missing transverse energy. This poster shows results from a search for supersymmetry in events with a single lepton, jets and missing transverse energy in 36 pb-1 of proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of 7TeV. Standard model background estimations were obtained from data using several complementary methods.
The results are interpreted in terms of limits in the parameter space of the constrained minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model. |
