description The search for a fermiophobic Higgs boson in the diphoton channel with the ATLAS detector in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 7 TeV is performed using an integrated luminosity of 1.08/fb recorded in 2011. A specific benchmark model is considered where all the fermion couplings to the Higgs boson are set to zero and the bosonic couplings are kept at the Standard Model values. No significant excess is observed in the diphoton mass distribution and limits are set using a modified frequentist method (CLs). The expected exclusion at 95% CL covers the Higgs boson mass range from 110 GeV to 116 GeV, while the observed limits are set in the ranges 110 -- 111 GeV and 113.5 -- 117.5 GeV.
