| Sumario: | LHCb is an experiment dedicated to the search of new phenomena in heavy flavour physics at the LHC. This review summarises the readiness of the experiment and the status of preparations for the first physics data scheduled for 2008. An overview of the expected physics highlights in the first few years of data-taking are presented and the prospects for a further programme of heavy flavour physics in the LHC era with a ten-fold increase in statistics is discussed |
