Sumario: | 10th September 2008 at 10.00 a.m. CMS saw the beam pass through the experiment for the first time ever, in the clockwise direction. The beam was initially intentionally stopped by blocks around 154 metres before CMS at Point 5, producing these images of the debris or "splash" from the particles hitting the blocks. After removal of the blocks, the beam then passed through CMS successfully. At 14.30 beam then passed successfully in the anticlockwise direction through the experiment. |
