Sumario: | % The subjet multiplicity distribution of the two jets with the highest transverse momenta is measured in proton-proton collisions with a center-of-mass energy of $7\,$TeV. % The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of $36\,\mathrm{pb}^{-1}$ recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC\@. % Jets are defined via the $k_{\mathrm T}$ sequential recombination algorithm with a jet size of $R=0.6$. Subjets are resolved down to a resolution cutoff of $y_\mathrm{cut} = 10^{-3}$. The subjet multiplicity distribution and its average are measured and corrected for detector effects for jet transverse momenta in the range of $97$--$1032\,$GeV and up to rapidities $|y|=2$. The results are compared to expectations from different simulation models, with and without differentiation between quark and gluon jets. |
