Standard Model and Heavy Ion Results from ATLAS

The general purpose ATLAS detector, at the LHC, is an ideal instrument for testing the predictions of the Standard Model in $p-p$ and $Pb-Pb$ collisions. In 2010 and 2011 the LHC delivered $p-p$ beams at $sqrt{s_{pp}}$=7 TeV and $Pb-Pb$ beams at $sqrt{s_{NN} }$=2.76 TeV. We present a summary including the newest measurements from the acquired data of several Standard Model processes spanning the total inelastic $p-p$ cross section, rare processes such as $toverline{t}+gamma$ production, and collective QCD phenomenology.
