Sumario: | The Collider Time Evolution (CTE) program [1] was used to simulate the proton beams that are expected in the LHC in 2012. It includes the effects of a number of physical processes, notably the emittance growth and intensity losses from intra-beam-scattering (IBS) and luminosity. The simulations were done for injection conditions and for collisions at E = 4TeV. Predictions of the time evolution of the bunch intensity, emittance, bunch length and luminosity, as well as for the IBS growth rate have been made for different initial beam parameters. |
