Search for physics beyond the Standard Model in events with a $Z$ boson and large missing transverse momentum using $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV $pp$ collisions from the LHC with the ATLAS detector

Sumario: | This note presents a search for supersymmetry in the final state defined by a $Z$ boson which decays to a pair of muons or electrons in association with missing transverse momentum using the ATLAS detector. The data were recorded in $\sqrt{s}$ = 7~\TeV~ proton-proton collisions at the LHC in 2011 and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 1.04 fb$^{-1}$. No excess above the Standard Model background expectation is observed. These results are interpreted in the context of a General Gauge Mediation scenario, when the lightest neutralino, which is the NLSP, is higgsino-like. We exclude gluino masses up to 570-700~\GeV~ at 95\% CL for higgsino masses in the range 200-640~\GeV. |
