Measurement of the B0d and B0s lifetimes in the decay modes B0d→J/ψK*0 and B0s→J/ψφ in ATLAS
The lifetimes of B0d and B0s mesons are determined from their decays B0d→J/ψK*0 and B0s→J/ψφ reconstructed in ATLAS using pp collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 40 pb-1. For the B0d meson the lifetime extracted from the fit is τBd = 1.51 ±...

Sumario: | The lifetimes of B0d and B0s mesons are determined from their decays B0d→J/ψK*0 and B0s→J/ψφ reconstructed in ATLAS using pp collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 40 pb-1. For the B0d meson the lifetime extracted from the fit is τBd = 1.51 ± 0.04 (stat) ± 0.04 (syst) ps. For the B0s meson the fitted (single) lifetime is τBsingle = 1.41 ± 0.08 (stat) ± 0.05 (syst) ps. The fitted lifetimes of both B mesons are consistent with the world average values. |
