LHCb: Observation of CP violation in $B^{\pm} \to D^0 K^{\pm}$ decays at LHCb
An analysis of $B^\pm \to DK^\pm$ and $B^\pm \to D\pi^\pm$ decays is presented where the D meson is reconstructed in the two-body final states: $K^\pm \pi^\mp$, $K^+K^−$ and $\pi^+\pi^-$. Using 1.0 fb$^{−1}$ of LHCb data, measurements of several observables are made including the first observation o...

Sumario: | An analysis of $B^\pm \to DK^\pm$ and $B^\pm \to D\pi^\pm$ decays is presented where the D meson is reconstructed in the two-body final states: $K^\pm \pi^\mp$, $K^+K^−$ and $\pi^+\pi^-$. Using 1.0 fb$^{−1}$ of LHCb data, measurements of several observables are made including the first observation of the suppressed mode $B^\pm \to [\pi^\pm K^\mp] DK^\pm$. CP violation in $B^\pm \to DK^\pm$ decays is observed with $5.8\sigma$ significance. We also comment on the prospects for similar measurements using different final states. |
