description ALICE experiment is a general-purpose detector designed to study the Quark-Gluon Plasma in heavy-ion collisions at CERN LHC. One of powerful probe to the QGP is the heavy quarkonium production in heavy-ion collisions compared to the pp collisions. The interests of the heavy quarkonium production is not limited in heavy-ion physics since its production mechanism in pp collisions is still ambiguous. The aim of this thesis work is to estimate the production cross section of (nS) in pp collisions at p s = 7 TeV in their muon decay channel with the ALICE muon spectrometer. The ALICE muon spectrometer is located at the forward rapidity region 􀀀4 < y < 􀀀2:5. It consists of a set of absorbers, a warm dipole magnet, tracking and trigger stations. The online monitoring software for muon trigger system described in this thesis work has been developed in order to help ecient data taking. A part of data taken in 2010 has been analyzed to estimate production cross section. The published J= production cross section in pp collisions at the same energy is exploited in the estimation method. The preliminary result in the rapidity range 2:5 < y < 4 is (1S) B(1S)!+􀀀 = 0:62 0:38(stat:)+0:12 􀀀0:21(syst:) nb per rapidity unit.
