Search for supersymmetry at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV in final states with jets, missing transverse momentum and one isolated lepton

This note presents the search for supersymmetry (SUSY) by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV in a final state with four hard jets, missing transverse momentum and one isolated electron or muon. The search is based on data collect...

description This note presents the search for supersymmetry (SUSY) by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV in a final state with four hard jets, missing transverse momentum and one isolated electron or muon. The search is based on data collected between April 5th and June 18th 2012, which corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5.8 fb$^{-1}$. No excess above the Standard Model background expectation is observed and limits are set on the visible cross section of new physics within the kinematic requirements of the search. The results are also interpreted as limits on the parameters of the minimal supergravity model.
