Sumario:The results of a search for pair production of the scalar partners of the bottom quarks in 4.7 fb−1 of pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV using the ATLAS detector at the LHC are reported. Scalar bottoms are searched for in events with large missing transverse momentum and two jets identified as originating from a b-quark in the final state. Results are interpreted in a R-parity conserving minimal supersymmetric scenario, assuming that the scalar bottom decays exclusively into a bottom quark and a neutralino. Scalar bottom masses up to 490 GeV are excluded for mχ˜01= 0 at 95% confidence level. Neutralino masses up to 180 GeV are excluded for scalar bottom masses around 400 GeV. The present limits significantly extend previous results.
