Search for supersymmetry using events with three leptons, multiple jets, and missing transverse momentum with the ATLAS detector

Sumario: | We report on a search for physics beyond the Standard Model using events with three leptons, four or more jets, and missing transverse momentum. The search utilizes 4.7 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data collected at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Data are found to be in agreement with the Standard Model expectation. The result is interpreted in the scope of two simplified supersymmetry models. The first model is pair-production of gluinos that decay into top squarks and quarks; $pp\rightarrow\tilde{g}\tilde{g}$, $\tilde{g}\rightarrow\tilde{t}_1^*\bar{t}$, and $\tilde{t}_1^*\rightarrow\tilde{\chi}^0_1t$. The second model is pair-production of bottom squarks decaying via $\tilde{b}\rightarrow t+\tilde\chi^\pm_1$, where $\chi^\pm_1\rightarrow W^\pm \chi^0_1$. |
