Sumario: | ATLAS and CMS, the two multi-purpose detectors at the LHC, are publishing several interesting results in the field of heavy flavor physics, that complement the findings of the specifically designed LHCb experiment. ATLAS announced the discovery of a new meson and soon after CMS followed with the first observation of a new beauty baryon. Several heavy flavor production cross-section measurements have been performed, that provide important tests of QCD. We will review the measurements in the quarkonium sector (J/$\psi$, $\psi(2S)$, $\chi_c$,Y) and in exclusive heavy flavor production channels, such as the $\Lambda_b$ differential production cross-section and the production of D$^{*}$ mesons in jets. Both experiments also exploited their excellent b tagging capabilities to study the production cross section of b jets. |
