Search for supersymmetry in final states with jets, missing transverse momentum and a $Z$ boson at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV with the ATLAS detector

This note presents a search for supersymmetry in the final state events containing a $Z$ boson ($Z \to \ell\ell$, $\ell$ = $e$, $\mu$), large missing transverse momentum and jets. The analysis uses a data sample that corresponds to a total integrated luminosity of 5.8 fb$^{-1}$ of $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV...

Sumario:This note presents a search for supersymmetry in the final state events containing a $Z$ boson ($Z \to \ell\ell$, $\ell$ = $e$, $\mu$), large missing transverse momentum and jets. The analysis uses a data sample that corresponds to a total integrated luminosity of 5.8 fb$^{-1}$ of $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV proton-proton collisions recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. No excess above the Standard Model background expectation is observed. The results are interpreted in the context of a general gauge mediation (GGM) scenario, where the lightest supersymmetric particle is the gravitino and the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle is a Higgsino-like neutralino.
