Sumario: | An update of the $H \rightarrow WW^{\ast} \rightarrow e\nu\mu\nu$ analysis has been performed using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 13~$fb^{-1}$ at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV collected during 2012 with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The analysis focuses on the mass region around 125~GeV where a discovery of a new neutral boson was made in summer 2012. An excess of events over the expected background is observed corresponding to a local $p_0$-value of $3 \times 10^{-3}$, or 2.8 standard deviations. The signal strength, which is defined as the ratio of the observed cross section to the value predicted for a Standard Model Higgs boson, is measured to be $\mu = 1.5 \pm 0.6$ for $m_H = 125$ GeV. |
