Search for new resonances at LHC (ATLAS + CMS)

The ATLAS and CMS collaborations extensively searched for physics beyond the Standard model in about 10\,fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions recorded during the years 2011 and 2012 at center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s} = 7$\,TeV and $\sqrt{s} = 8$\,TeV, respectively. We report on the sea...

Sumario:The ATLAS and CMS collaborations extensively searched for physics beyond the Standard model in about 10\,fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions recorded during the years 2011 and 2012 at center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s} = 7$\,TeV and $\sqrt{s} = 8$\,TeV, respectively. We report on the search for new resonances which appear e.g. as a $Z'$ or $W'$ Boson in a Sequential Standard Model, for $W_R$ and a heavy Neutrino in a left-right symmetric extension of the Standard Model, and for di-quarks, colorons, excited quarks and other new strong resoncances in final states with jets. In the analyzed data, no evidence for new resonances has been found, and limits have been set on the scale of new physics of the order of several TeV.
