| Sumario: | A preliminary study of dedicated optics for IR2 with Beta*=18 m for possible implementation during future LHC high luminosity operation has been conducted. Optics parameters of this configuration are discussed. Machine requirements and the considerations for optimal measurements of very forward particles are described. Acceptances of forward protons in the four-momentum t-transfer and the fractional momentum loss Delta p/p are given. Physics topics of interest for such measurements are outlined. |
