Sumario: | The candidate had the opportunity to work in the TOTEM collaboration contributing to software development devoted to analyzing the data collected by the tracker T2. This Thesis work contain the procedure used to identify the parameters of misalignment of the four quarters of the tracker T2. These parameters are the corrections (about displacement and tilt of the detector from the nominal position) to be included in the algorithm of tracks reconstruction in order to obtain a optimal reconstruction. The candidate has contributed to the activities of data analysis of collision events proton-proton occurred at 11.25 m from the collision point. These events allow to perform new interesting measurements: these collisions have the particularity of being able to extend the range of the precendet analysis on density of charged particles in forward region (dN_CH/dη). This measurement turns out to be an important input for the tuning of the theoretical models that describe the soft hadronic interactions. |
