Sumario:An inclusive search for the Standard Model Higgs boson decaying into a muon–antimuon pair has been performed using data with an integrated luminosity of 20.7 fb$^{−1}$ collected with the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider. No evidence of a signal is observed and upper limits are set on the Higgs boson production as a function of the Higgs boson mass. The observed (expected) limit at the 95% CL for the Higgs boson with a mass of 125 GeV is 9.8 (8.2) times the Standard Model prediction.
