A Measurement of WZ Production in Proton-Proton Collisions at sqrt(s)=8TeV with the ATLAS Detector
This note presents measurements of $W^{\pm}Z$ production in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS experiment in 2012 with an integrated luminosity of 13 $fb^{−1}$. Sumario: | This note presents measurements of $W^{\pm}Z$ production in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS experiment in 2012 with an integrated luminosity of 13 $fb^{−1}$. A total of 1094 candidates with a background expectation of 277 events were observed for purely leptonically decaying bosons with electrons and/or muons in the final state. The total cross section has been determined to be $\sigma _{WZ}^{tot} = 20.3^{+0.8}_{-0.7}$(stat.) $^{+1.2}_{-1.1}$(syst.) $^{+0.7}_{-0.6}$ (lumi.) pb, in agreement with the Standard Model expectation of 20.3 pb. |
