Sumario: | Linac4 is a normal conducting, 160 MeV H- ions accelerator that is being constructed within the scope of the LHC injector upgrade project. Linac4 is entering its commissioning phase. Commissioning of Linac4 will be performed progressively with the installation of the accelerator structures into the Linac4 tunnel. It is important to evaluate the acceptance of each individual section as well as the whole linac in order to identify bottlenecks and the sections that need to be adjusted more carefully during the installation process. Using multi-particle tracking codes, simulations were performed in order to determine the acceptance of each section of the Linac4 and the whole linac. This note presents the method adopted for the simulations and the results of the Linac4 transverse and longitudinal acceptance studies. |
