Sumario:After a brief introduction to the theory of the muon anomalous moment a≡(g−2)/2, all the experimental measurements of this quantity are reviewed in some detail. This includes the CERN cyclotron experiment, the first muon storage rings at CERN, the Berkeley experiment, the invention of the “magic energy” and the latest measurement with the third muon storage ring at Brookhaven. The current comparison with theory is discussed.
