description | ATLAS has a wide programme of study of production cross section and of properties of particles with beauty, as well as charmonium and of bottomonium states. Recent results on the production the Y(nS), n=1-3 and of charged B mesons are discussed. In both cases, the differential production cross section is measured over a range of transverse momentum up to about 100 GeV, much wider than in previous measurements. The production of Y is compared to prediction based on color singlet and evaporation models. The production of B+/- production cross section is compared to POWHEG+PYTHIA, MC@NLO+HERWIG and FONLL showing different levels of agreement over the range of transverse momenta accessed by the experiment. |
