B and Lambda_b lifetimes at ATLAS and CMS

The status of some beauty lifetime measurements performed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC is reviewed, focusing on B hadrons and the Λ0b baryon. The lifetimes of B0s and B0d mesons are determined from their decays B0d → J/ΨK∗ and B0s → J/Ψφ. For the Λ0b baryon, the lifetime and its ratio to B0d lifetime is extracted studying the decay Λ0b → J/ΨΛ0. In all the above cases, the J/Ψ is reconstructed in the decay J/Ψ → μ+μ−. Results are obtained using pp collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV.
