Search for the Standard Model Higgs boson in the $H\to\tau\tau$ channel with the ATLAS detector

Sumario: | The search for the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson decaying into a pair of $\tau$ leptons provides a direct measurement for Higgs boson coupling to fermions, and tests SM predictions. The search for the $H\to\tau\tau$ decay is challenging due to a presence of unmeasured energy resulting in poor mass resolution. These proceedings describe the current analysis technique in the $H\to\tau\tau$ decay search at centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7$~TeV and $8$~TeV using integrated luminosity of 4.6fb$^{-1}$ and 13.0fb$^{-1}$ of ATLAS data respectively, emphasizing the invariant mass estimation technique of the Higgs boson candidates. |
