Sumario: | This note is about some general beam coupling impedance studies with the software CST, where two solvers (Eigenmode and Wakefield) are compared. The second part is about some impedance studies on the BGV project, a new beam shaping-detector meant to improve transverse beam shape and emittance diagnostics that could be installed in the LHC during Long Shutdown 1 (LS1). The accurate knowledge of transverse emittance during LHC fills indeed proved to be crucial for luminosity optimization. |
