Search for chargino and neutralino production in final states with one lepton, two b-jets consistent with a Higgs boson, and missing transverse momentum with the ATLAS detector in 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ of $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV $pp$ collisions
A search for direct production of charginos ($\chi^{\pm}_{1}$) and neutralinos ($\chi^0_{2}$) in final states with one charged lepton (electron or muon), missing transverse momentum, and two jets identified as originating from b-quarks and consistent with a 125 GeV Higgs boson is performed. The anal...

Sumario: | A search for direct production of charginos ($\chi^{\pm}_{1}$) and neutralinos ($\chi^0_{2}$) in final states with one charged lepton (electron or muon), missing transverse momentum, and two jets identified as originating from b-quarks and consistent with a 125 GeV Higgs boson is performed. The analysis uses 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ of proton–proton collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV recorded in 2012 with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. No excess is observed with respect to the expectations from Standard Model processes. The results are interpreted in the context of simplified supersymmetric models considering $pp$ -> $\chi^{\pm}_{1}\chi^0_{2}$ production followed by $\chi^{\pm}_{1}$ -> $W^{\pm}$ ( -> $\ell\nu$) $\chi^0_{1}$ and $\chi^0_{2}$ -> $h$ (->$b\bar{b}$) $\chi^0_{1}$, where $\chi^0_{1}$ is the lightest neutralino and supersymmetric particle and m$_{\chi^{\pm}_{1}}$ = m$_{\chi^0_{2}}$ is assumed. For a massless $\chi^0_{1}$, mass ranges of 125 < m$_{\chi^{\pm}_{1},\chi^0_{2}}$ < 141 GeV and 166 < m$_{\chi^{\pm}_{1},\chi^0_{2}}$ < 287 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level, determined at -1$\sigma$ signal theoretical uncertainty, for an expected exclusion range of 225 < m$_{\chi^{\pm}_{1},\chi^0_{2}}$ < 235 GeV. |
