Sumario:TileCal is the hadronic calorimeter covering the most central region of the ATLAS experiment at the\nLHC. This sampling calorimeter uses iron plates as absorber and plastic scintillating tiles as the\nactive material. Scintillation light produced in the tiles is transmitted by wavelength shifting\nfibres to photomultiplier tubes (PMTs). The resulting electronic signals from the approximately\n10000 PMTs are measured and digitized every 25 ns before being transferred to off-detector\ndata-acquisition systems.\nThis contribution describes the detailed simulation of this large scale calorimeter from the\nimplementation of the geometrical elements down to the realistic description of the electronics\nreadout pulses, the special noise treatment and the signal reconstruction. Detector\nnon-uniformities and imperfections are also represented. Detailed validation has shown that the\nsimulated detector response characteristics have been successfully integrated and are in agreement\nwith the real particle data.
