Sumario: | We present an inclusive search for supersymmetry in events with at least one bottom quark jet, performed on data collected by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.3 inverse femtobarns. We study the distribution of the data in the kinematic plane defined by the razor variables $R^2$ and $M_R$ in search of a peaking signal on top of a smoothly falling standard model background. The data is consistent with the expected background, modeled by a two-dimensional analytic function. Exclusion limits on supersymmetric particle masses at 95\% confidence level are derived in several simplified supersymmetric scenarios. We exclude the pair production of gluinos in multi-top quark and multi-bottom quark final states for gluino masses up to 1300 GeV and 1210 GeV, respectively, as well as the pair production of top squarks in top quark-antiquark final states for top squark masses up to 710 GeV, depending on the mass of the lightest supersymmetric particle. |
