Pile-up in Jets in ATLAS

This 20' talk for BOOST 2013 covers the application of subtraction and suppression methods for pile-up in jets. Methods for the correction of the jet pT and jet shape variables based on the jet area concept and the determination of an event transverse momentum density due to pile-up are discussed. The avoidance of pile-up by adjusting the calorimeter noise thresholds and the suppression of pile-up by using track based discriminators are also shown.
