Sumario: | The production of top quarks in proton proton collisions produced by the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at center of mass energies of 8 TeV has been recently investigated using the data samples collected by the CMS and ATLAS detectors in 2012. The top quark pair production cross-section measurements ${\sigma}_{t\bar{t}}$ in the agree well with the recently available full NNLO (Next-to-Next-to-Leading-Order) theoretical calculations. The single top quark production cross section in the t-channel ${\sigma}^{t-ch}_{t}$ and the charge ratio ${\sigma}^{t-ch}_{t}/{\sigma}^{t-ch}_{\bar{t}}$ are also in good agreement with the approximate NNLO theoretical calculatios. The production of $t\bar{t}$ and $tb$ resonances has been searched in the 8 TeV data samples and no evidence of new physics beyond the Standard Model has been found, improving the limits established with 7 TeV data. |
