Sumario: | This thesis deals with the measurement challenges arising from magnets with small apertures to be used in future particle accelerator projects. Here, the application of the classical measurement methods employing rotating coils comes to its limits. In particular, the thesis is aimed at developing measuring systems based on wires, by defining the theoretical models for the use of wires for magnetic measurements. The measurement results highlight how the wire-based methods proposed in the thesis open a new frontier more promising than rotating coils in small-aperture magnets due to the high complexity to manufacture coil shafts with such small dimensions (few mm). |
