The Higgs Particle (1/3)

<!--HTML-->The recent discovery of a Higgs boson is a milestone in a half century long strive to unravel the origins of electroweak symmetry breaking. In the successful first three years of LHC operations at the energy frontier, the quest of Higgs bosons went from the era of searches, to the discovery and more recently on to the era of measurements of its properties. An overview of the these three phases, the implications of the discovery and future prospects will be discussed.
