description This document presents the azimuthal anisotropy analysis of prompt $J/\psi \rightarrow \mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ measured in collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}} = 2.76$ TeV, based on a data sample collected during the 2011 PbPb run with the CMS experiment at the LHC, which corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 150 $\mu \text{b}^{-1}$. The analysis is performed using the event-plane method. Amplitudes of the second Fourier component ($v_2$) of the angular distributions are presented as a function of the prompt $J/\psi$ transverse momentum, p$_\text{T}$, for different collision centrality classes, in a broad kinematic range, $3 < \text{p}_\text{T} < 30$\,GeV/$c$ and $|\text{y}| < 2.4$. The measured $v_{2}$, averaged in the centrality 10--60\% for prompt $J/\psi$ with $6.5<\text{p}_\text{T}<30$\,GeV/$c$ measured in $|\text{y}|<2.4$ is $0.054 \pm 0.013 (\text{stat}) \pm 0.006 (\text{syst})$. A non-zero $v_2$ is measured in all the kinematic bins studied. The observed anisotropy shows no significant centrality or rapidity dependence when integrated over rapidity and centrality, respectively. The $v_2$ of prompt $J/\psi$, measured in the 10--60\% centrality events is compatible with a p$_\text{T}$-independent anisotropy.
