Sumario: | SPL is a superconducting H- linac under study at CETN. The beam will be accelerated from 160 MeV of LINAC4 to 5 GeV in SPL which is composed of two families of 704.4 MHz elliptical cavities with geometrical betas of 0.65 and 1.0. The baseline SPL design consists of 244 cavities for a total length of 505 m. To reduce the length and cost, a new design will be presented in this paper. In new designs we will have shorter length linac with lower quadrupole gradient and less quadrupole number and beam dynamics simulation results will be presented. |
