Overview of the CMS strip and pixel detectors

The CMS silicon tracker is the largest silicon detector ever built. It is constituted of a 66 million channels pixel detector and a 10 million readout channels silicon strip detector with an active area of around to 200$m^2$. This document presents an an overview of the operational experience gained during the last running period and the performance achieved including the impact on physics.
