Sumario: | This note summarizes the preliminary results concerning the shielding requirement at the beam dump for the CN2PY secondary beamline. Several different configurations were tested, using Monte-Carlo calculations performed with the FLUKA package. The proposed design is a passive shielding of about 8000 t of iron, whose dimensions have been optimized to reduce the fluence level of the beam induced muons to an acceptable level for the near detector working conditions. |
