Sumario: | The LHCb data acquisition system is realized as a Gigabit Ethernet local area network with more than 330 FPGA driven data-sources, two core-routers, 56 fan-out switches and more than 1400 servers (will be upgraded to about 1800 soon). In total there are almost 3000 switch-ports. Data are pushed top-down, quasi-synchronously using n unreliable datagram protocol (like UDP). |
