Sumario:A new algorithm dedicated to the tau lepton trigger at Level-1 has been developed for the phase-1 of the LHC. A thorough study of the tau energy deposits in the CMS calorimeters performed directly on data taken during the LHC Run 1 has guided the development of this new algorithm. Thanks to the capabilities of the new hardware system, a dynamic clustering is carried out and a energy and eta-dependent calibration is applied. In this DPS the performance of the new algorithm in terms of turn-on curves, energy response and angular resolution are shown and compared with the tau trigger of the LHC Run 1. The background vs signal efficiency curves are then presented. Finally, the background rate reduction brought by the new algorithm complemented by isolation criteria is shown.
